HSE – Health Service Executive
The Health Service Executive (HSE) is the publicly funded healthcare system in Ireland, responsible for the provision of health and personal social services. The Health Service Executive (Hse) was established by the Health Act 2004 and officially came into operation on 1 January 2005. It replaced ten regional health boards, the Eastern Regional Health Authority and various other agencies and organisations. The Minister of Health retained overall executive responsibility in the government. HSE adopted a regional structure (HSE Dublin Mid-Leinster, HSE Dublin North East, HSE South and HSE West).
Irish Minister for Health Dr James Reilly TD announced a new grouping of hospitals in May 2013, intending to restructure Irish public hospitals and provide better patient care:
- Dublin North East (Subsequently Renamed Rcsi Hospitals)
- Dublin Midlands (Subsequently Renamed Dublin Midlands Hospital Group)
- Dublin East (Subsequently Renamed Ireland East Hospital Group)
- South/south West (Subsequently Renamed South/southwest Hospital Group)
- West/north West (Subsequently Renamed Saolta University Health Care Group)
- Mid West (Subsequently Renamed Ul Hospitals Group)
A new configuration of 90 primary care networks was announced in October 2014.
How to Qualify for HSE Jobs in Ireland

1- EEA Nationals

For the National Recruitment Service to process your application, you will need to submit the following scanned documents:

Validation and Recognition of Non-Irish Qualifications
The statutory Register for Podiatrists/Chiropodists opened on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. As of March 31, the Podiatrists Registration Board at CORU has become the designated competent authority for the profession under Directive 2005/36/EC and will review all new applications to recognize professional qualifications from outside the Republic of Ireland.
The Minister for Health will continue to be the competent authority in relation to all applications received before 31st March 2021 or until such time that a decision on each application has been made. Such applications are processed by the National Validation Office of the Health Service Executive on behalf of the Minister.
From 1 April 2021 applications should be sent to CORU on the CORU ID application form
Please Note: The NVO office in Galway will not accept applications for podiatry received after 31 March 2021 and applications will be returned to the sender.
The Podiatrist Registration Board at CORU has the statutory responsibility to:
- Establishing and maintaining a register of members of the profession
- Assessment, accreditation and supervision of training courses for health and social care professions under the Act
- Establishing a code of professional conduct and ethics and standards of performance to which podiatrists must adhere.
About CORU
CORU is Ireland’s multi-profession health regulator. CORU’s role is to protect the public by promoting high standards of professional conduct, education, training and competence through the statutory registration of health and social care professionals. CORU was established under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (as amended). It consists of the Health and Social Care Professionals Council and Registration Boards, for each of the professions named in the Act. CORU is designated as the competent authority for their professions under Directive 2005/36/EC. Each profession has its registration board which is responsible for the registration of members of the profession. The Boards review all new applications for recognition of qualifications awarded outside the Republic of Ireland.

How to Apply for HSE Jobs in Ireland?
All HSE job vacancies are listed on the HSE website. Since 2009, all recruitment has been carried out by the HSE National Recruitment Service (NRS), Arás Sláinte Chluainín, Manorhamilton, Co. are conducted by which is headquartered in Leitrim.
The Public Appointments Service (PAS) carries out some recruitment campaigns on behalf of the HSE. If so, the listed job will contain a link to the public appointment service.
You should use the application form specifically for the advertised post. Application forms can be downloaded, the details can be typed and returned by email or you can print the form, fill it out by hand and return it by post. Most application forms are competency-based and include guidelines on how to complete them.
Completed application forms should be returned to the specified address after the time and date mentioned in the HSE jobs. Application forms received after the last date will not be accepted. Candidates should ensure that applications are posted/emailed in sufficient time so that the guaranteed arrival does not exceed the latest deadline for acceptance.
